“ Cleo was born at home on October 16, 2022. When I first learned I was pregnant with Cleo I knew I wanted to pursue a homebirth. Having OHP insurance (Oregon health plan) I was nervous that I wasn’t going to find a midwife who took it, and that I would be compelled to give birth in a hospital. Once I started chatting with my community about my pregnancy, and my hopes of a homebirth, I was very fortunate to be pointed in Mischa’s direction by several of my peers.
We were guided from the beginning in all aspects of the process. We were very impressed with the amount of knowledge Mischa possessed while being incredibly fluid navigating different personalities and relaying information in a calm and understanding way. My partner and I feel we didn’t have to compromise anything having Mischa as our Midwife.
Like most first moms, I didn’t know what to expect, I just knew I wanted to trust my body, my baby, and the people around me who believed in this natural homebirth process. In the end, Cleo is here, we didn’t leave our house for two weeks after I gave birth, as Mischa came to us.

“I first met Mischa as a student midwife when she attended my dear friend’s birth. We immediately clicked and became friends. When I became pregnant a few months later I was extremely disappointed that Mischa would not be able to attend my birth. When my labor began none of us anticipated how long and complicated it would end up. On day two my primary midwife, Micaela (who is also amazing!) called Mischa in hopes she would be available to help with my marathon birth. I was so grateful to see, and feel Mischa’s calm presence in the wee hours of the night. Mischa caught my little guy and helped clear his lungs from his long challenging birth.
When I became pregnant the second time, I knew I wanted Mischa and Micaela at my birth. The birth of my second was MUCH FASTER! However, his shoulders got stuck at the end and Mischa confidently helped his shoulders rotate and he was born safely into her hands.
Prenatal and postpartum care with Mischa was always fun and full of laughs. The visits were also filled with informed consent and thoughtful empathy when I was processing big emotions. I highly recommend Mischa and the other midwives on her team!!”

My pregnancy was considered “high risk” due to extremely low iron levels. Still she was as determined as I was to ensure that I would be able to have a home birth, so she helped me raise my iron levels so that I wouldn’t be risked out of care. It was miraculous!

“ My home birth experience with Mischa was one I will never forget… I absolutely loved it.
I found Mischa when I was a little more than halfway through my fourth pregnancy, and it was going to be my first home birth. I was a little nervous but I couldn’t have ended up with a more lovely midwife and support person to help me through it all. She was there for everything; my pregnancy ups and downs as well as my mental health struggles. I couldn’t have made it through it without her.
Mischa came to each visit so kind and relaxed, and I immediately felt like we were already friends. I loved the fact that she accepted OHP, giving so many people, like myself, the opportunity for a home birth. I learned so much from Mischa, more about pregnancy, labor and birth than I knew before, and she introduced me to so many herbs and remedies for just about everything I’ve experienced so far in my postpartum journey.
During my birth, I had the most beautiful and surreal experience I could have ever imagined. Mischa and her assistant, Caitlin, were so calm and gentle and soothing, not at all what I had expected with them having only 20 minutes to set everything up while baby was coming! Everything went so smoothly and perfectly, and she made sure me and baby were both doing well before leaving us to rest after a couple of hours.
