Chiropractic

  • “ Prenatal chiropractic restores optimal motion to the spine, pelvis, and supporting soft tissues. This can relieve discomforts associated with pregnancy and encourages neutral suspension of uterus in the pelvis. This balance provides more room for baby's optimal growth, movement, and birth positioning. (I am certified in the Webster Technique for optimizing pelvis position during pregnancy!)”

  • Therapist who specializes. in the perinatal period.

“ I am a board licensed clinical social worker (LCSW/LICSW) in the state of Oregon and Massachusetts with a particular passion for working with youth and adults navigating life transitions. I have advanced training in perinatal (pregnancy and postpartum) mental health and am honored to support you on the profound journey to parenthood.

Therapy is not about “fixing” or “changing” who you are; it is an ongoing process of self-reflection and discovery. Together we will work to identify areas of your life that are not working and make shifts towards well-being. I work from a relational model and primarily use internal family systems (IFS) as well as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).”

Acupuncture

  • “ Kara began her career in Women's Healthcare in 1995 when she received her Doula certification from the Seattle Midwifery School.

After moving to Ashland in 1997, she began working for a local acupuncturist and also attending births as an assistant to a local team of midwives.

As she was falling in love with the art and efficacy of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, she attended a birth in which there was an acupuncturist present, and became inspired to pursue a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, Oregon, with a focus on womens’ health. She wrote her thesis on post-partum depression and has had a keen interest in mental health, particularly that of new moms, ever since.

After completing her graduate degree, she traveled to Nanjing, China, for an intensive internship at the China Nanjing International Acupuncture Training Centre in the Gynecology department and had the opportunity to study under a highly respected senior medical doctor who has been in the field of Women's Health for over 50 years.

Kara’s primary passion over the length of her career has been to provide comprehensive reproductive healthcare to women of all ages. Her areas of expertise include pregnancy, pre- and post-partum care, infertility, menstrual irregularities, PMS and hormonal imbalances, perimenopause, and menopause.”
